GRIEF THERAPY AND BEREAVEMENT GROUP Wednesdays 6-7:30pm

The group will be re-offered after this last date.
Ø Recently or persistently grieving adults
o Accept the loss of a loved one
o Re-create a changed life and identity after loss
Ø Therapist: Dr. Sarah Gurley-Green is trained in grief and persistent grief and an author on grief, pain, and loss.

1. Schedule a defined worry time: Say I will worry or think about this during worry time
2. Convert a passive worry into an action
3. Grounding:
a. Flower-Candle breathing.
b. Square breathing
c. Think of all the Disney films you can
d. Count 5 things you can see, 4 things that you can touch, 3 things you hear, 2 things you can smell, 1 thing you can taste—POP A MINT
4. Change your space: go for a walk, go outside, get a drink of water
5. Get it on paper: you can draw a picture or write some words
6. Remember that thoughts are like clouds; let them float away.
